Thriving in Virginia’s Center

The Lynchburg region is located in south-central Virginia in the heart of the Eastern seaboard. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the James River, our region has caught the eye of some of the largest global employers and talent looking for unmatched connectivity.

We are home to several distribution centers that service their customers via truck transit on two of Virginia’s largest interstates, I-80 and I-64. Additionally, CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern Railway Company provide freight rail service to regional businesses, and trains pass through our Amtrak station daily for round-trip commuter service to Washington, D.C. and New York. The Lynchburg Regional Airport also offers daily nonstop service to CLT Douglas Airport in Charlotte, one of the top 10 most connected airports in the world.

Top Rated for Business

In the Lynchburg region, we not only welcome businesses with a warm embrace; we make great business sense. Our diverse industries continue to thrive thanks to Virginia’s favorable business climate, which ranked #1 in CNBC’s Top States for Doing Businesses in America.

Our 6% corporate income tax rate has remained one of the lowest in the country, and Virginia is the northernmost right-to-work state on the East Coast. In addition to our business-friendly climate, residents often rub elbows with small business owners, C-suite executives and community leaders – a form of connectivity that we pride ourselves on.
